Regular Training Programme for Para Sport - Community Boccia

Attendance is on a RSVP basis - existing volunteers under the programme will be accepted into the slot(s) they choose. For new volunteers, our volunteer coordinator will be in touch to confirm your interest to volunteer.

Description of Programme

Boccia is a sport of strategy, precision and accuracy. It is played by athletes with related neurological conditions or impairments that impede motor skills. Players play from a seated position and therefore, extremely accessible to wheelchair users. Boccia is usually played on a flat, smooth surface where players aim to roll their coloured balls as close as possible to the target white ball, also known as the "jack". Balls can be propelled by the hands, feet, head or with the use of an assistive device e.g. ramp.
